It seems that the only time crazy emergencies that come straight out of the blue always happen when the parents are out of town for a few days. Yesterday... I'll just say we were able to deal with what popped up, but it would have been SO much easier for parents to take care of it.
Today: I'm the oldest one home and somehow a bird got in the house. And not a little bitty sparrow, but one of those big old black birds. I think it's a crow, but people have told me that those big black birds are not crows.. but ok whatever. Whatever it was it was really really big, and when it was perched on something, without the tail and wingspan, it was as big as my foot!! (I wear a size 7-8). With the wingspan and tail though, it was huge. We finally got it out though by waiting for it to calm down and land someplace, we threw open a window and ripped off the screen and waited for an hour. Dumb dumb birds.
And of course, now there's more severe weather and the little kids are freaking out because the radio said "golf ball sized hail".

I am SO not ready to be a mom! In a few years maybe. But not now!
